Habibie dan Ainun

2013 Perth Indonesian Film Festival

Screened with English subtitles, this film contains classifiable elements approximately corresponding to G classification

This film portrays the love story of former Indonesian President BJ Habibie’s 48-year marriage to his late wife Ainun. The director Faozan Rizal describes it as a caricature of a political love story that doubles as a biopic. It is based on BJ Habibie’s bestselling book Habibie & Ainun and is a story about first love and last love.  Rudy Habibie is an aircraft engineering genius with a big dream for his country, while Ainun is a smart doctor with a career path wide open for her. The film brings a clear message to the audience that anything is possible in the name of love.
